Colts 2010 53-Man Roster Prediction

Thomas at the rookie camp

Kevin Thomas at the rookie camp

This was extremely difficult to try and predict. For starters nobody has any idea what’s going on with Kevin Thomas. He appeared to have suffered a season ending knee injury a few months ago, but is now on the active roster. He was recently seen at training camp in high spirits signing autographs and had no knee brace and wasn’t limping or showing any favoritism to the injured leg. He has said he’s still doing rehab and that it’s getting better and better every day. Reports like that don’t sound to me like somebody who will be missing the entire season. Actually, on the contrary, those are typically things you hear about somebody who is aiming to be ready to play by the regular season. I don’t think that’s the case with Thomas by any means but it certainly makes me optimistic enough to think that we could have him ready to go before the end of the year. Continue reading

Colts Rookie Camp 2010

The Colts rookie camp is this weekend, starting yesterday and going through Sunday. There had been an extreme lack of official news from the Colts about rookie free agent signings. They did finally announce yesterday though (on their website) who all the rookie free agents are.

The players attending the Colts Rookie Camp are… Continue reading

Where Might I Find Michael Vick in 2009?

Last year around this time I wrote a post (I’m actually just one week short of it being the exact same date) breaking down each team’s quarterback situation. You can check that out here. This post is going to be similar except it will be to specifically address whether or not each team has a need for Michael Vick and if they do, how much of a need it is. Some teams may need him simply because they need a quarterback, while others might be looking to use him in the Wildcat formation. Just today on ESPN.com’s NFL rumors section they said that the Redskins may be interested in Vick. I’d be interested as to what our commenter, Michael, who is a Redskins fan, thinks about this. The Orange and White Game

enterAs many of you know on Saturday I was at Tennessee’s spring scrimmage, known as The Orange & White Game. If I remember correctly this was the first time I had been at Neyland Stadium for a game since I watched Travis Henry get carted off the field in a game against Vanderbilt. I went with my friend Jason, who was visiting me from Kansas. Jason seemed pretty blown away by the atmosphere here in Knoxville and in Neyland Stadium. At one point he compared the experience of the spring training game at Tennessee to that of an actual regular season game day at Kansas. Welcome to the SEC. Continue reading

Top Remaining NFL Free Agents

I’ve been meaning to do this for a few days now, but here it is. I’ve put together a list of the top free agents still available in the NFL. I’m only listing players that are unrestricted free agents, or players that were released. So this list does not include restricted free agents, or free agents that have been franchised. I’m putting up what team they were with in 2008 as well as what type of free agent they are.  I’m also listing them with how old they will be by September 1, 2009 so that we get an idea for how old they will be this season. It’s interesting to take note that of the 21 players I have listed, only three of them are under 30.  I’m listing them in a general order from best to worst, not based on how well they’ve done in the past but what kind of production I think a team would be able to get out of them this year. Here it is: Continue reading
