WMD – QB Point System

I’ve been in a few debates about Peyton Manning recently. Well, a few more than I usually find myself in that is. Either way, people always talk about Super Bowls. I don’t understand that, because it’s a team sport. Not only is it a team sport, it is the ultimate team sport. Though despite this, I decided I would make a point system for seasonal accomplishments: Super Bowl wins, MVP awards, AP First-Team All-Pros, and Pro Bowls. I say that that the accomplishment of winning one or more Super Bowls only solidifies the case for an already impressive career, however most people out there like to have Super Bowl wins be what defines a players career. Baltimore Ravens at Indianapolis Colts

This is number six of 11 for my NFL playoffs preview series. To view the other click the one you would like to read below:

Cardinals at Saints

Packers at Cardinals

Ravens at patriots

Eagles at Cowboys

Jets at Bengals

Oh goodness. This is a chess match and I’d be lying if I said this game doesn’t have me nervous as a Colts fan, but I’m still very confident. The Ravens have never won in Indianapolis. Ever. This is a rivalry though. The entire city of Baltimore hates the Colts, Peyton Manning and Ray Lewis have an immense amount of respect for each other, and Reggie Wayne and Ed Reed are best friends and consider one another a brother. There are tons of story lines that go along with this game but when it comes down to it only one thing matters: who plays better on the field. That is why we’re going to put all of those other things aside and focus on solely what will be taking place on the gridiron tomorrow. Continue reading

Worthless

I just read the most worthless article I have ever read from ESPN.com and I am not happy that this is something considered news worthy. The cheater, tom brady, decided on a name for his recently born baby… and guess who couldn’t care less. That would be me. This has nothing to do with sports and ESPN shouldn’t be writing worthless crap like this and have it infecting their usually stellar website. This is just garbage. I wrote earlier this week about the Tiger Woods stuff that has been going on and how much I just don’t care, and how much it irks me to have sports-media reporting as much on athlete’s personal lives as they do with things that are actually going on in the field of play. Now tom brady decides on a name for his stupid kid and it gets a whole article written about it? Give me a freaking break. Continue reading

Where Might I Find Michael Vick in 2009?

Last year around this time I wrote a post (I’m actually just one week short of it being the exact same date) breaking down each team’s quarterback situation. You can check that out here. This post is going to be similar except it will be to specifically address whether or not each team has a need for Michael Vick and if they do, how much of a need it is. Some teams may need him simply because they need a quarterback, while others might be looking to use him in the Wildcat formation. Just today on ESPN.com’s NFL rumors section they said that the Redskins may be interested in Vick. I’d be interested as to what our commenter, Michael, who is a Redskins fan, thinks about this. Can you say karma?

By now most of you know how much of a boiling hatred I have for the new england patriots. I remember practically dancing while I wrote this post and making Bryan write this post because I knew I wouldn’t be able to do it in a non-biased way. At this point you might be asking yourself “what could he possibly have to complain about with respect to the patriots now? They failed to make the playoffs and they lost to the Colts this year. He should be happy” and my response to you is that I am happy, but I read something that made me even happier.

Let me explain. Continue reading
