WMD: The Chase – Peyton Manning

As everyone knows, Brett Favre has retired and then not retired and is now in limbo for what seems like the 900th time. However, for this installment of WMD (Weller’s Musing and Divination) I’m going to be assuming that Mr. Indecisive is actually staying retired and won’t be returning. I realize that it’s a coin-flip and is really anybody’s guess at this point but just bare with me. I’m making this assumption so that we can take a peek into the future to see how far off -both quantitatively and in terms of time- Peyton would be/will be/is from breaking all of the major NFL career passing records if/when/now that Favre retires/has retired – I figure that if he can be indecisive when it comes to returning or retiring then I should follow suit and be just as indecisive with the tense of my verbs.

Friday 5 – Reasons to Watch the Winter Olympics

Okay, I’m going to be honest, this isn’t exactly the top five reasons to watch the Winter Olympics. It’s more so of a list for the top five things to look at while watching the Winter Olympics. In short this is a cop-out Friday 5, where I’m listing the five best looking female athletes that will be competing in the Winter Olympics this year.

Top Remaining NFL Free Agents

I’ve been meaning to do this for a few days now, but here it is. I’ve put together a list of the top free agents still available in the NFL. I’m only listing players that are unrestricted free agents, or players that were released. So this list does not include restricted free agents, or free agents that have been franchised. I’m putting up what team they were with in 2008 as well as what type of free agent they are.  I’m also listing them with how old they will be by September 1, 2009 so that we get an idea for how old they will be this season. It’s interesting to take note that of the 21 players I have listed, only three of them are under 30.  I’m listing them in a general order from best to worst, not based on how well they’ve done in the past but what kind of production I think a team would be able to get out of them this year.
