Review of Day 2

Yesterday we used the Review of Day 1 as our Friday 5. Today we’re doing a review of Day 2 just because we like making lists. We’re adding two more lists this time around. Just like yesterday we still have the five best picks of the day, the five worst picks of the day and the top ten players still available. Now we also have the five teams that are having the best and worst drafts so far (total from Day 1 and Day 2) tacked on at the end. Here they are:

Now for some thoughts:

  • Bryan gives an honorable mention to the Chiefs for best team so far. He said that Arenas and McCluster were both reaches, but worthy of reaches and their other two picks (Berry and Asamoah) were selections he loved but they didn’t end up making the top five because he wasn’t a fan of the Moeaki pick at the end of the third.
  • I’m going to give honorable mentions for best picks of Day 2 to Brandon Ghee and Charles Brown.
  • There are a lot of honorable mentions for the worst picks of Day 2 category. Some that jump out at me that neither of us mentioned are Emmanuel Sanders, D’Anthony Smith, Jermaine Cunningham, Torrell Troup, and Myron Lewis. I suppose Armanti Edwards and Shawn Lauvao should also be mentioned.
  • I’m giving honorable mentions to the Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys  for best team through three rounds. It took me a long time to decide which team between those two and the Ravens was going to make my top five and which two were going to be left out. It was so close that it literally came down to the fact that the Ravens traded down, thus acquiring more picks, and still having a great draft while the Titans didn’t make any trades and the Cowboys had to trade up (thus decreasing their total number picks) to have the great draft they’re having.
  • I think that Pittsburgh and Atlanta are really the only unmentioned teams that should be given honorable mentions for five worst teams.
