2010 Fan Mock Draft – Round 2

This is the second round of our interactive, fan mock draft where the readers make the picks. We have each team being represented by a different person and they make the picks that they think are best for their team. Each person has six hours to make their pick and then the next person is on he clock. To see the easier to read, spreadsheet version of the draft click here. To see the reasoning behind the first round picks, click here.

Here’s how the second round has played out:

33. St. Louis Rams – Golden Tate – WR – Notre Dame

I’m about production, not workouts.  Tate just catches passes which is what the Rams need more than anything.  Benn is bigger and can return kicks, but when it comes to route running and catching passes, Tate is the man.  This will give him a year to learn pro football before we draft our Quarterback with the #1 pick next year.  It was almost Benn, because of the local Illinois roots, but the Rams need playmakers and Tate is that.

2010 NFL Mock Draft XVIII (03/30)

I first want to recommend that everyone goes and checks out the fan mock draft where we are having each NFL team represented by a different person and seeing how the draft plays out.

It’s been about a weeks since my last mock draft, and since then we have started the new interactive fan mock draft. I did another four-round mock this time. For my next mock draft I will take into account the readers opinions so be sure to share your thoughts in the comments below. I know you’re excited. To see how things have progressed with my 2010 mock drafts take a look back at IIIIIIIVVVI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV, XVI, and XVII. Here is the eighteenth: Continue reading

My First NCAA Tournament Game Experience

On Friday night a friend from college called me up and informed me that he had an extra ticket to the Tennessee-Michigan State game and that I should come since I’m a Tennessee fan.  Sound logic, I thought, so I went.

I’d never been to an NCAA Tournament game before and had never really planned on going, either.  I’d rather spend my money on other sports, but I’m a sucker for my teams and I didn’t have to pay for the ticket so it was a win-win for me.  I donned my orange and headed out.

My seats for the game.

Urby Needs to Calm Down

I rarely agree with a Florida Gator.  In fact, right now I’m having a very tough time coming up with even one time where it has happened.  That’s why I was surprised when I read a quote from Florida wide receiver, Deonte Thompson, in the Orlando Sentinel regarding Tim Tebow:

“You never know with Tim,” Thompson said. “He can bolt. You’ll think he’s running, but then he’ll just come up and pass it to you. You just have to be ready at all times. With Brantley, everything’s with rhythm, time. Like, you know what I mean, a real quarterback.”

Wow, Mr. Thompson.  I see exactly what you mean and that makes perfect sense.  I might not have alluded to him being a fake quarterback (well, I would have but if I were a Gator, I wouldn’t), but you get the idea.  Tim liked to run with the ball sometimes but  no one other than himself knew if he was going pull the ball down and take off or actually throw instead.  So it definitely makes sense that a pure-passer would be easier to play with.

Everyone saw it that way, right?  …Right?

NCAA Tournament Picks – Sweet 16

I actually forgot about the Tournament today with our mock draft going on, so forgive my tardiness.  I’m going to give my picks for all right games because I know that I’ll forget again tomorrow.

I’ll start with the two games currently going on since they’ll be over in a minute anyway.

2010 Fan Mock Draft – Main

Welcome to the Master List of our interactive fan mock draft where the readers make the picks. We have each team being represented by a different person and they make the picks that they think are best for their team. Each person has six hours to make their pick and then the next person is on he clock

Since last year’s draft got really cluttered and hard to follow, we’re going to keep this master list at the top of the site. You can click here to read the thoughts behind each selection in the first round, you can click here to read the thoughts behind each selection in the second round, and you can click here to read the thoughts behind each selection in the third round. Make sure to check in often to see who has been selected by which team and who is still left on the board.
