NFL Leaders Through Week 3

Week 4 is the first week that any teams will have a bye week (Atlanta, Philadelphia, Arizona, Carolina) so I figured I would put up a post breaking down the individual and team leaders in each statistical category. I’ll try to do this a few more times this season. I’ll definitely do it again after Week 10 (last week for any team to have a bye) and Week 17 (the last week of the season) but might try to work it in around Week 7 and around Week 13.

I will show each stat with the top five listed with it and the amount of the given statistic that the team or individual has amassed. I’ll add a few notes at the bottom as well.

We’ll go ahead and start with team stats:

I first want the address the asterisk for the “Tackles For Loss” section. For some unknown reason I can’t find information on this stat anywhere in terms of who is leading the league. The only thing I found was a little nugget saying that Marques Douglas was leading the league with seven, but it didn’t say anything beyond that. If anyone comes across a better source (or a source at all) for this information, please let me know. It would be much appreciated.

Also before you go running off to pick up the Broncos defense in your fantasy league, I should tell you that they haven’t exactly played very good teams so far. Their three wins are against the Bengals, Browns and Raiders so those defensive stats aren’t quite as impressive as they seem at first glance. And for Bryan, I’d like to point out that the Rams are sixth in offensive rushing yards per attempt with a 4.9 average.

If there are any stats that I don’t have shown that you are curious about and/or would like for me to include the next time around please feel free to suggest them in the comments section, as well as any other thoughts you have about the post. I considered doing the bottom five of each stat as well but this had taken up enough time as is, so I didn’t. Maybe I’ll include it next time, or I could just make it a completely separate post. Let me know what you think.
