Benson Gets Arrested… Again

Cedric Benson, the running back for the Chicago Bears was arrested in Austin, Texas early this morning after being pulled over and then failing a sobriety test. He was released on bond after being charged with for DWI (driving while intoxicated) and Benson also refused to give a breathalyser or give any blood samples. This arrest comes just over a month after Benson was arrested for boating while intoxicated and still has pending charges for boating while intoxicated and resisting arrest from that same incident. Benson has repeatedly denied both of these charges, and is planning on fighting both of those charges, but I’m sure this second arrest in a little over a month won’t help his cause.

If this leads to any sort of suspension for Benson then that could provide the Bears with even more problem with their running game. Benson is their top running back in an already week group. Behind him on the depth chart is Adrian Peterson (not the good one) and Matt Forte. If Benson gets suspended for any significant amount of time, the bears offense would look to be even worse off than they already are.

  1. I’ll be honest. The guy is an idiot.

I dislike him and the Bears so saying what I am about to say has nothing to do with my NFL feelings…

You can’t defend a guy who gets a DUI but you can speculate as to the remarkable coincidence that this is.

With the reputation of the Police department at stake, I find it funny this guy gets bumped 2 times in a matter of what…50 days?

Way I see it is that they probably sat on this clown waiting for him to slip up and he did. Now any credibility he had is gone, and he has no one to blame but himself.

The law though is and cops in particular are bogus. This whole thing reminds of of many times where I have heard stories about cops doing this kind of stuff.

In relative terms, it makes me think about Pac-Man getting arrested one time, where someone (I think another Cop) had come out and said that one of the officers knew his lambo, where he hung out and that pac-man had an out of state license but lived in Tennessee. And how he would pull him over and bring him in.

Whatever the story was, I remember it and it just makes me laugh because this is somewhat similar and I am willing to bet it wasn’t a coincidence that out of the 60% of people on that road that night who were probably .08 and higher, he randomly was the one stopped.

He is an idiot but I just don’t buy that the police department down there has that kind of luck and that Benson’s is that bad.
