It’s only been five days since my last mock draft but I wasn’t very happy with that one so I thought I would go ahead and put up another one. We still have the co-op fan mock draft going on and once we’re done with the sixth round in that I’ll go ahead and put up a six round mock draft of my own. This is another five round mock however. Now that we’re finished with the NFL Combine, and the compensatory picks have been assigned it makes it a lot easier to do more rounds, especially now that all but a few of the top free agents have been signed.
We’ve got about a round-and-a-half left to do in the co-op fan mock draft and will hopefully finish it by the time the actual NFL draft rolls around. Sometime between now and then I still plan on doing at least one full seven-round mock draft, so that should give you something to look forward to.
Speaking of things to look forward to, Bryan and I will be live blogging the actual draft this year, just like I did last year only this time it will be even better because I won’t be flying solo. It should again be filled with a lot of excitement and a lot of emotion, and we hope a lot of good info and feedback with each pick.
As always, please feel free to leave a comment, and if you would like to submit ratings for your favorite team’s positional needs that I can use for my next mock draft take a look at our Contact Us page, and shoot me an email and I’ll let you know what you need to do.
If you would like to see how things have progressed, I recommend checking out my first eleven mock drafts: (9/11), (9/25), (10/10), (10/15), (12/10), (1/03), (2/06), (2/12), (3/09), (4/04), (4/10).

Who do you think the Lions will take with the first overall pick?
Wow Curry dropping to 11th. He is so highly rated that it is hard for me to see him falling that far.
I know, but IF the Lions go with Stafford and the Rams take Monroe… then none of those next 8 teams have a big enough need for Curry.
Clay Matthews will not go to the pats. Matthews lacks instincts, is not a “big” play maker, and didnt even play on third down for USC. Why? Because he is a major liability in pass protection. He is a good pass rusher, but not a great one, so he doesnt particularly fit the 3-4 scheme. Also 2 wr’s in the first 4 rounds. Not a chance. Maybe 1. Look for the pats to target a MLB, S, OLB, and CB or O-line in first and second round. Particularly, Rey, Barwin, Chung, and Robinson or Jamon
intelligent picks by the Cowboys. Quality players for positions short of depth. I only wish Jerry Jones was so smart.
Thanks, Will… I’m glad you like it!
Still can’t understand why you have Cincinnati taking 2 RBs in the 3rd. It looks as though management is eager to give Cedric Benson the chance to be the workhorse. If a running back figures that high into Bengals plans, it seems one speedy, change-of-pace back would do it. The other 3rd rounder would be well spent on a TE or WR.
The Bengals need both a back that can be an every down back AND one that can be a change of pace back… Shonne Green is an every down back and Cedric Peerman is a change of pace back… I don’t Cedric Benson is going to work out… at all.
I keep telling you if you are going to draft Stafford you must select a high valued Left Tackle to protect him. Phil Loadholt is NOT going to do that. He is too slow (5.45 – 40), and can’t handle the outside. At best he is a RT. You may want to draft the BPA in your Mock, but you are making Stafford the next Joey Harrington by not protecting him.
Eben Britton at 20? William Beatty at 33? Those are the only other options and neither of them are worth taking that early. If Britton is still there at 33 then he’s worth it but otherwise it’s too much of a reach.
I disageee completely, both Britton and Beatty are projected late first round or early second.
That depends on who is projecting… I think you could take Britton at 20, but I also think it would be a pretty big reach… but I don’t think Beatty is anywhere near first round talent… maybe early second round, but I think that would be a reach too… He’s more so of mid-second round talent in my opinion.
