It’s been nearly a month since my last mock draft so I thought it was about time to put up another one. Like I mentioned then, I haven’t really felt a need to put my own mocks up frequently because we’ve had the co-op fan mock draft going on. For those of you who have seen my past mock drafts and know that I normally do three rounds, I decided to got with four rounds this time because last time I only put up two rounds so hopefully this makes up for it. Now that we’re finished with the NFL Combine, and the compensatory picks have been assigned it makes it a lot easier to do more rounds, especially now that all but a few of the top free agents have been signed.
We’ve got about 100 picks left to do in the co-op fan mock draft and will hopefully finish it by the time the actual NFL draft rolls around. Sometime between now and then I will be doing at least one full seven-round mock draft, so that should give you something to look forward to.
Speaking of things to look forward to, Bryan and I will be live blogging the actual draft this year, just like I did last year only this time it will be even better because I won’t be flying solo. It should again be filled with a lot of excitement and a lot of emotion, and we hope a lot of good info and feedback with each pick.
As always, please feel free to leave a comment, and if you would like to submit ratings for your favorite team’s positional needs that I can use for my next mock draft take a look at our Contact Us page, and shoot me an email and I’ll let you know what you need to do.
If you would like to see how things have progressed, I recommend checking out my first eight mock drafts: (9/11), (9/25), (10/10), (10/15), (12/10), (1/03), (2/06), (2/12), and (3/09).

Hey Guys,
Enjoying the interactive mock…yours is different than mine, but who knows, really, what Singletary will do in his 1st draft. I actually have no problem with the four guys you picked…but, the only issue is none is a RB. So, instead of Massaquoi (whom I like), I’d substitute Rashad Jennings.

I just reveiwed your latest Mock ……. You didn’t address the Lions biggest need at all ! Yeah, okay you picked Stafford like everybody else, but how do the Lions stop the run ? You didn’t select a DT for them at all, even after Cory Redding went to Seattle !!! IMO, you wasted the entire third round for the Lions, They have both Bullock and Alexander to handle the Safety spots and Veikune is the same type of DE that the Lions picked last year in Cliff Avril – the scouting comments are almost identical. I would suggest that taking Andy Levitre (OG – Oregon) at 65 and Alex Magee ( DT – Purdue) at 82 is a better use of the picks. Especially since the Lions don’t have another pick unitl the 6th round.
While I don’t necessarily agree with who you have for each team, I can understand your logic behind choosing them, for the most part.
A few specific comments:
Sanchez at 12. While I believe the Broncos might get him, I think they will have move in front of at least SF to do so.
I doubt Freeman falls to NY in 2nd.
I don’t think Jets go 2 WR in 3 rounds.
I don’t think Bears would spend one of their very limited draft picks on Nate Davis.
Thanks for posting.
i am also a diehard niners fan i just don’t see andre smith as their first round pick; i think the recent signing of marvel smith gives them options to take the best player available at # 10…..no problem with the olb from virginia however i look for singletary & company to address safety or tackle in the 3rd & 4th rounds.
Good Draft for the Pats, I would love to see them get McKillop, this kid is going to a good football player.
I’m a long-suffering Bengals fan who thinks your 4/4/09 mock is good for us — all except the supplemental pick at 3-98 — RB Cedric Peerman. Cincy just resigned Cedric Benson and has a couple of test-case RBs in the stable — DeDe Dorsey and James Johnson. Either could complement Benson if the former can stay healthy and the latter proves out. In any case, Andre Brown at #3-70 is enough at RB. Use #98 for a pass-rushing DE or LB, or possibly a WR or TE. Enjoy your site.
Hey guys,
Nice mock. I’m a Texans Fan and I agree Cushing is a strong possibility at 15, although Clay Matthews III is getting a ton of hype in the Houston media. I personally think they will try to trade back and target Matthews later in the first while adding an extra 3rd. That’s how they got Steve Slaton last year. Assuming the go OLB in the first, no way do they go MLB in the 2nd, they have DeMeco Ryans there anyway. In your scenario, DJ Moore or Louis Delmas are strong possibilities there. Then maybe Rashad Jennings in the 3rd. I also like Jean-Francois in the 4th and with their second 4th they may look for a situational pass rusher or OG/C depth. I would be super stoked with this scenario.
Well, I think that most of the picks are as good anyone else’s. None of us will get every one of the picks right. I guess that Matt Stafford is probably going to be the first pick, but I am just not convinced this is an NFL starter. He certainly will not be ready to start. I am not sure that I would pick Andre Brown in the third, because he is not very durable. He is a major talent, but with his injury history, the Bengals would be stupid to take him that early. They have too many RBs that don’t play already. Like the Peerman pick, though he seems a little early too. I do not see the Titans taking Goodson, but Alphonso Smith is a great pick if the guy is there.
Do the Phins still have a 3rd rnd pick?
As far as I know they still do… why wouldn’t they?
As a Bucs fan, congrats on getting the positions of need right; some of these online mockers have Tampa’s taking a RB or MLB, which shows total ignorance.
I really liked Jerry Rd 1 a couple months ago, but the new staff says they want to get bigger at DT, & he is about the same size as the departed Jovan Haye, so now I’m unsure. You may well be right though.
I love your Cowboy picks. You must be a cowboys fan too. Somehow I doubt they get DJ Moore and Duke Robinson.
I think Baltimore takes a Hackeem Nicks in that situation, they already have Suggs as a pass rusher. Besides that, I think it is a very realistic mock draft.
I’m a huge Packers fan and your draft makes me very excited. Chances of it shaking down exactly like this are slim because we don’t know each team’s draft board, but I love the idea of getting a 3-4 edge rusher in the 1st round, Ron Brace to play NT in the 2nd, then a 3-4 DE in the 3rd, followed up by the playmaking Chase Coffman at TE. I love the Coffman pick for sentimental reasons as well as practical, since I live in Kansas City, but grew up in Wisconsin, I’ve seen Chase light it up on the field and love the legacy aspect of him coming to the Packers because his Dad spent most of his career in Green Bay as a TE and is in the Packers Hall of Fame.
How much would it shake up the draft if the BILLS took Sanchez at # 11. You only have 3 QB’s going in the first 3 rounds. Nobody in BUFFALO is convinced Edwards can get to the next level (playoffs) even with T.O. They might find the value too much to pass on. There might even be a trade on the table before the day is done.
I have a hard time buying Malcolm Jenkins coming off the board ahead of Aaron Curry. The Browns run defense is atrocious and Malcolm Jenkins is not going to alleviate that problem. Besides, after his combine and pro day where he failed to post strong 40 times I have a hard time seeing anyone considering him one of the top 5 picks in the draft.
With all of the buzz Sanchez is getting from his pro day workout last week I have a sense that he is going to be gone before Denver picks at 12. Jacksonville is said to have more than a mild interest in him and even took him out to dinner last week. I think Denver will probably make a play for Sanchez but they may have to move ahead of Jacksonville to secure him.
The Eagles may take Pettigrew or Moreno but I don’t see them taking both. Given the need for a tackle and Reid’s history of spending high draft picks on them it is a pretty safe bet one of those picks is going to be spent on a tackle.
The ‘Phins are thinking long and hard about a WR and don’t be surprised if it is Kenny Britt. They had him in for a workout last week and I think they want to have as much seasoned talent on offense when Henne takes over after next season.
Maybin at 24 seems a bit low after his impressive showing at PSU’s pro day. I think he comes off the board before Everette Brown who teams seem to be not as interested in as they once were.
Ok, this mock draft is miserable. When did you even do this? TJ Houshmandzadeh was signed by Seattle (not to mention they have Deon Branch and Bobby Engram), why would the take Michael Crabtree at 4?
No one else on the planet thinks Jason Smith will fall that low. Some have him at #1 over all. How does Monroe go first? And same with Curry from Wake, he’s probably the best player in the draft and you have him falling to 7 when I guarantee that someone will pick him before that.
Why do you have an OLB going to Green Bay when they drafted AJ Hawk a few years ago?
Not to even mention that the first RB you have going is Moreno at 21… When Denver’s second pick will probably be where he goes because they have Elvis Dumerville who is young and amazing.
And the Giants are going to take an OT in the first round and address both their needs in the 2nd round? Cmon. Their line is the solid part of their team. They are prob going to Laurenitis.
It seems you didn’t put much thought into this.

1) I’ve seen some lists with Monroe over Smith. Remember, Monroe bumped Brandon Albert (who did well at LT this year) to LG in college.
2) Denver is, I believe, transitioning to a 3-4 which means Dumerville will be moved to OLB because of his size. So Denver will need a DE. They can hold off on the RB because they can get good quality in later rounds while their Defense is in need of serious help.
3) Giants have few needs in general but their weakest spots are Passing Offense (18th) and Sacks Allowed (12th). So that info at least leans in the direction that they may need an OL.
4) Seahawks don’t have Bobby Engram anymore, he signed with the Chiefs March 17.
Good work, Adam. I appreciate it. I’m glad that you saw where I was coming from. Thanks for the comments, everyone! We hope you’ll check out the rest of our site as well and return for the new stuff that we post daily!

There’s not a compelling need to take any OT in the 1st round now that they’ve signed Marvel Smith to play RT. If they don’t go OT in the 1st, the pick could be Maualuga. Takeo Spikes re-signed for 2 yrs, but big Rey could understudy him, then replace him next season. No problem w/Sintim…he’ll give Singletary the pass rusher he wants. In the 3rd, I think the pick will be Rashad Jennings. Singletary wants a power RB to compliment Gore, and Jennings is just the ticket. I like McGee…although 4th seems a bit early.
Uh, you have Cincy picking two HB’s Rd. 3. I’d think Cornelius Ingram would be the choice there as laid out.
